Well, it's about time I started doing some user analysis and that means asking you guys some questions. What would you guys like to see at Mario's Haven? What do you like that's already here? What don't you like/what would you like changed? I would really appreciate it if you guys gave me some input about the site...good or bad. If you have any ideas, I'd gladly try them out! Mario's Haven is all about the fans! |

Sadly, last Tuesday/Wednesday Mario was eliminated from Dancing With The Stars. So since the DWTS era is over, it's time for a new layout. Enjoy! -Kris P.S. I've been MIA lately, but school's almost out so I'll be back to regular updating soon. |

Dancing With the Stars: Mario eliminated Dancing With the Stars Mario & Karina Smirnoff Eliminated May 6 How did you feel after some of the harsh comments you got from Len over the weeks? Mario: I have already sent the invite for Len to meet me in the boxing ring, so we are going to settle our problems on the stage. The finale could be a boxing match. But those comments just made me want to work harder. Karina: I wanted to take Carrie Ann out last season, and if Mario also takes out Bruno, next season there will be no judges. But Bruno can stay, we love Bruno. But how did it feel when you got your first 10 a few weeks ago? Mario: It felt great; just climbing up that ladder. I always wanted better comments from the judges for us, but it felt great to be able to come back every week and get into the dances. What will you take from the show? Mario: It was a great opportunity and was a lot of fun. I made some cool new friends, and Karina and I are hitting the studio to make an album [laughs]. I always said when I get kicked off the show, I am putting Karina on the payroll and will get a salary every week to teach me to dance. Karina: Oh, so sweet — I can be your private dancer, a dancer for money. What did you like best about working with Karina? Mario: I had fun with her. Good times, bad times. Even when the stuff was really tough for me, I still had fun with her. I feel like she is a great teacher and really has a love for ballroom dancing. I have a love for music and there is a strong passion there, and when I saw her passion for dance, it made me want to do it more. If I could teach her how to sing, I would. Karina: But I am absolutely hopeless. There is no chance for that. Did your body change from all the dancing? Mario: I lost 7 to 10 pounds and feel I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life. I am also learning how important rest is and eating is. I feel great. It was great training, especially the group dances we did, as it helped your brain to retain more information. The more you can retain, the better, and that is what dance is about. And it's fun performing with everyone. What's next? Mario: The tour is next and my album. I am working on a new project that should be done this summer, and I am looking to have a new single out by the end of the year. Films, anything I can get my hands on. I am going hard, man — never stop. I have a lot of stuff going on and love to express myself in different ways, so you will definitely see more of me. Definitely in my stage performance, I will be incorporating some of the moves I have learned. Performance has a whole new meaning to me now. When it comes to focus and flexibility, I am noticing all that more now. How are you two going to keep in touch? Karina: We will pretty much move in together. Mario: We will see each other pretty much every day. Karina: But I will miss his attitude — he's always positive, strong-minded, but always kind. Oh, and him licking his lips, that is my favorite thing he ever did. Mario: But I will be back for the finale. I have no regrets at all. Permalink | Posted: May 7, 2008 |

Dancing With The Stars Gambling Results: Mario Eliminated By Larry Rutherford Dancing With The Stars is getting ready to finish another season. Next week, the semi finals take place and on Tuesday one of the contestants learned they will not be a part of that show. R&B singer Mario was eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night. He and partner Karina Smirnoff were informed they will no longer be a part of the competition on the show's celebration of their 100th episode. With Mario eliminated, that leaves only four left to compete in next week's semi-finals. Christian De la Fuente, Kristi Yamaguchi, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Jason Taylor are all that is left from this year's field. Taylor and Yamaguchi both had sub par performances this week, but managed to avoid being eliminated. De la Fuente had to do his routine after rupturing a tendon in his biceps last week. His routine this week was choreographed so he mainly used his other arm. In addition to the elimination, the show also featured some contestants from past seasons. They were there to celebrate the 100th episode of the show. Several of the show's past contestants actually danced on Tuesday. Apolo Anton Ohno, Mario Lopez, and Melanie Brown all performed. "DWTS:" Mario No surprise here; What R&B singer with the "bloody ugly feet" from Monday danced off stage forever last night? (Personally, I thought his feet were just fine, Len.) Actually, Mario - who pretty much wins hands-down for the most gracious exit speech this season - looked positively thrilled he got voted off. (Time to get back to my career! This thing has taken up enough time already! I've got a life, for crying out loud! This is hard work! Etc.) If he was thrilled - secretly - I totally sympathize. Anyway, we're on to the semi-finals next week. Kristi K is the "putative winner," and was from day one, but who knows? That one-armed bandit sure looks like he could steal this whole thing yet.. |

"Dancing with the Stars" celebrated its 100th episode on Tuesday night, but the show wasn't all fun and games, as contestant MARIO got the bad news that he'd been voted out of the competition. The R&B star and partner KARINA SMIRNOFF took the news well, with Mario saying, "I've had a great time performing on this show, I have a great partner." He also addressed judge LEN GOODMAN: "Len, thank you for all of your comments. Ultimately you've helped me become a better ballroom dancer." And in terms of fans telling him he inspired them, he said, "The real brave ones are the young men and women fighting for our country overseas." No bottom two were announced, so it's anyone's guess who will have the edge as JASON TAYLOR, CRISTIAN DE LA FUENTE, KRISTI YAMAGUCHI and MARISSA JARET WINOKUR and their partners head into next week's semi-finals. The 100th episode festivities included an hour-long special that counted down the judges' fave dances of the first five seasons (season three's MARIO LOPEZ and his then-partner Karina took No. 1 for their sultry tango), an in-studio performance by season four winners APOLO ANTON OHNO and JULIANNE HOUGH, and performances by country crooners RASCAL FLATTS. Former contestants JERRY SPRINGER, VIVICA A. FOX, SABRINA BRYAN, JOEY FATONE and more were in house for the big night. |

DWTS elimination: Mario is out By Lorrie Lynch with Kathy Rowings The elimination of R&B singer Mario - the youngest competitor ever - on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night broke my heart. I have to admit he stole it from me during my week in L.A. with all the contestants. No, not like that. I'm old enough to be his mom, and I would be proud to have a son like him. Mario is a consummate performer and was a gentleman throughout the competition. He made dancing cool for young people and, at 21, broke DWTS ground for future young competitors. Mario may not have bonded with a fellow contestant in the way Jason Taylor and Cristian de la Fuente have, but he was well thought of by his colleagues and certainly by his partner, the beautiful Karina Smirnoff. Next up for Mario will be getting ready for his summer tour, which will promote his new album Go and his Do Right foundation. |
